Of all the strains of cannabis surely Skunk #1 must be the most famous, not to say notorious, of all. Winner of multiple awards and scourge of the tabloid press where it is used as a synonym for all high quality sinsemilla, Skunk #1 has been a stable, inbred strain since 1978 although its origins go back even further. Skunk #1 is 75% sativa and 25% indica| it originated as a cross of 50% Colombian Gold, 25% Mexican and 25% Afghani. It is ideally suited to both indoor and greenhouse cultivation and it also does exceedingly well outdoors in warmer climate regions. It has a very high calyx to leaf ratio and develops long colas of light green and gold. Care should be taken on the last 6 weeks or so of flowering as it can be susceptible to mould which is why it is recommended to have very good air circulation when growing indoors. Yields are excellent following a 9.5 week florescence. The scent is well-known and can be very powerful during the end of flowering but once dried and cured the smell is softer and quite sweet. The high is potent and uplifting.
