Silver Haze is the cannabis strain that made indoor cultivation of Haze a viable alternative for lots of growers. The addition of a potent Northern Lights pheno-type shortened the flowering time as well as adding density to the buds and then back-crossing the resultant plants emphasised its sativa qualities. Silver Haze is an indoor strain unless grown in a warm, sunny climate such as that found in the Mediterranean region. Although much shorter than a pure Haze plant Silver Haze is still able to treble its height during flowering and so it is recommended to keep an eye on the headroom in the growing space and switching to 12/12 before this is likely to become a problem. If employing a SoG set-up both cuttings and seedlings may be switched as soon as roots have become established.
The flowering period for this plant is between 65 – 75 days which is so much faster than a pure Haze which can take more than 125 days. Outdoor growers will see their plants ready for the chop during the second half of October at the earliest, hence the need for a warm, dry climate. Yields from this strain are very good with the buds really filling out in the last week or two. The taste has a Haze quality to it and the effect is potent, powerful, cerebral and euphoric slowly evolving into something a little more relaxed. Smokers report a surge of creativity and energy when used in small amounts.
